BB Team’s Run At Riyadh Ended By The Gladiators

The BetBoom Team and the Gaimin Gladiators are arguably the biggest favorites to win the tournament. Though many fans anticipated these two teams to meet in the Grand Final, it wasn’t the case as they were sent down to the Lower Bracket.

In this elimination match between the two giants, the BetBoom Team failed to get revenge on the Gladiators after their matchup in the DreamLeague Season 20 Grand Final. After winning the first game, BetBoom couldn’t convert their one-game lead into a series win, resulting in their elimination from the Riyadh Masters tournament.

We got a post-game interview with Quinn, who had a rough start to the series but picked himself up and put in good work. Quinn was asked about his feelings after the series, which he replied with:

“I’m really happy; I’m really proud of my team. I think we pulled it together really well after a pretty rough start to the tournament for us. I’m just really proud of everyone for putting in work and bringing in vibes and effort.”

This is the first time the Gaimin Gladiators were sent to the Lower Bracket this calendar year. Since this is a first, Quinn was asked whether he felt any pressure after losing Game 1 in this elimination series.

“Since the Tundra series, I think we’ve had a mentality shift. We should’ve lost against Tundra, and now we get an extra life, some one-in-a-million miracle. We’re just appreciating that and just playing. I honestly felt zero pressure after losing game one, and I’m pretty sure everyone also felt the same.”

The BetBoom Team had a strong showing in Game 1 from all three core players. Pure’s Axe and gpk’s Puck could have free reign over the map, buying Nightfall’s Terrorblade enough time to become unkillable.

In the second game, the Gladiators struck back after a sloppy laning stage. Dyrachyo’s Medusa was able to snowball out of control and proceeded to carry the game with ease.

The BetBoom Team took early control of the third game, with Nightfall’s Juggernaut having a free game. However, a poor team fight in the middle lane set BetBoom’s momentum back and allowed the Gladiators to find a way back in.

The game was decided with a massive Rosh fight in the 33rd minute, where the BetBoom Team poured all their resources into killing Dyrachyo’s Medusa. However, Dyrachyo survived and then wiped out the enemy team instead, helping Gaimin cross the finish line and win the game.

The BetBoom Team finishes at a disappointing 5-6th place but will collect $800,000 for their efforts. The Gladiators look to win their sixth event of the year and will face off against the winner of 9 Pandas and Talon Esports tomorrow. Will we get to see Quinn against RAMZES again?
