Vici Gaming refused to play a tie-break with Royal Never Give Up for 4th place in the DPC: China Upper Division. The team received a technical defeat and took 5th, while the ESL One Stockholm Dota Major 2022 invitation went to RNG.
On their official Weibo page, Vici Gaming said that the match cancellation was due to the substitution limit. During the season, Vici Gaming replaced offlaner ??Li "Irving" Jian with ??Zhou "Yang" Haiyang. The latter played 4 official meetings with the team. The tie-break was supposed to play ??Irving, but the eSportsman injured his back and couldn't participate in matches. Perfect World didn't allow Vici Gaming to use an additional substitute in the tie-break match.
After the cancellation of the tie-break, Royal Never Give Up finished 4th in the DPC: China Upper Division and received the final invitation to ESL One Stockholm Dota Major 2022 from the China region. The championship is scheduled for May 12 to 22 in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
