Team Spirit Eliminated From DreamLeague Season 22
The previous winner of DreamLeague Season 21, Team Spirit, was knocked out of the tournament by Xtreme Gaming, resulting in a fourth-place finish. The Chinese squad moved on to the Lower Bracket Final, where they will face the BetBoom Team, who had lost to Team Falcons in the Upper Bracket.
Team Spirit 1-2 Xtreme Gaming
Yatoro’s idol, Ame, eliminated him from the tournament.
The first map was a complete stomp for Xtreme Gaming, with another position five Terrorblade in Dy's hands. Ame and Xm, on Faceless Void and Zeus, had near-flawless games, with KDAs of 10/1/15 and 12/1/14, respectively. It was a very clean game from the Chinese side. Only one fight went wrong in Team Spirit’s high ground, but the rest of the match didn’t pose too many problems.
In the second map, Xtreme Gaming stomped the laning stage. However, the Chinese side made some miscalculated plays, on top of Team Spirit’s quick reactions to address the situation. Overall, Team Spirit executed the fights better than Xtreme Gaming in the second game, drawing the series 1-1. Larl on Leshrac ended the game 12/0/14.
Xm got his hands on his 8-0 Sniper in the final game of the series. The map started incredibly close, with no team having a net worth lead. However, a massive team fight at the 25-minute mark became the game's decider. Xtreme Gaming won the clash and continued building on the lead they had gotten. Eventually, Team Spirit was forced to concede.
The two-time TI winners finish DreamLeague Season 22 in fourth place.
BetBoom Team 1-2 Team Falcons
Team Falcons continued their dominance in the Upper Bracket, defeating the BetBoom boys. However, they lost a map during the process.
Team Falcons started the series by dominating the early game in the first map. They had a 7,000 net worth lead by the 16-minute mark. However, the BetBoom Team found an amazing fight at the bottom lane, allowing the Eastern European squad to take advantage and turn the game around. As the game went on, Team Falcons ran into some damage problems and ultimately lost the game.
The second game had to be one of the best games in the entire tournament. The Falcons got stomped in the laning stage, allowing the BetBoom Team to begin taking control of the game. However, the two teams began trading team fights left and right, with Aegis snatches, keeping the game competitive. It all came down to the final team fight, which the Falcons won since all three of their cores had Refresher Orbs.
In the final map, Malr1ne went for a Mid Batrider pick that caught the BetBoom Team off guard. Though the game started even, Team Falcons eventually ran away with it, ending it in only 33 minutes to win the series.
The BetBoom Team fell to the Lower Bracket, where they will play an elimination match against Xtreme Gaming. Team Falcons sit comfortably in the Grand Final and will wait for their opponent.
