Team Spirit Complete A 20,000 Deficit Comeback To Secure The Grand Final
The “Lower Bracket Kings” pulled off a massive comeback against Team Falcons in the Lower Bracket Final of PGL Wallachia Season 1. With this sensational victory, Team Spirit will play against Xtreme Gaming for all the marbles.
The first map started relatively even until Larl started stepping up on his Storm Spirit. Paired with an Io, the young midlaner found massive impact in the first map, going 10/2/21 to secure the first game. His mid counterpart, Nine, had a disappointing 0/9/7 score on Monkey King.
Team Falcons struck back in the second game, and Nine was on his redemption arc. Playing Keeper of the Light, the stand-in went 11/1/16. However, it was a collective team effort that allowed the Falcons to win the map with a kill score of 43-9 to tie the series.
In the final map of the series, the early game was dead even. Then, Team Falcons pulled through, building a net worth lead up to 19,000 at the 41-minute mark. However, Yatoro hit his Aghanim’s Scepter timing on Lifestealer, disarming skiter’s Luna and turning the game around.
After such a crucial team fight victory, Team Spirit had full control of the game and outscaled the Team Falcons lineup. The TI winners completed the comeback and eliminated Team Falcons from the tournament.
The MENA squad has been eliminated in third place, which is still a good result considering they are playing with a stand-in that hasn’t played competitive Dota in a year. We are down to our final series which will feature Team Spirit and Xtreme Gaming.
