SA Qualifiers Day 2: NoPing and Infamous Make Early Exits
Day two of the South American Qualifiers only had three matches but was filled with upsets! Here's a recap of what happened today.
Balrogs Esport 1-2 Lava Esports
Balrogs Esport were slight favorites in the matchup against Lava Esports, a Division II team. Despite being the less-favored, Lava pulled through by taking the series with a score of 2-1.
Balrogs easily stomped the first game, but Lava Esports quickly bounced back to complete the reverse sweep. Balrogs have been eliminated from the qualifiers, while Lava moves on to the next round.
Infamous 1-2 Qhali
Qhali, a team that went 1-6 in Division II, has successfully pulled off an upset against Infamous, a notable competitor in the South American region.
Qhali won an exciting 62-minute Game 1 to put them in the driver's seat. Though Infamous struck back in the second game, Qhali could convincingly stomp the third game cleanly.
Infamous makes an unexpected early exit while Qhali will move on in the Lower Bracket.
Universitario Esports 2-1 NoPing Esports
NoPing Esports, consisting of known Carry player hFn, have been upset by Univesitario Esports, another lesser-known team in the South American region that recently got promoted to Division I.
Univesitario Esports performed like the better team today. Like Infamous, NoPing Esports have their TI dreams crushed and will have their season ended here.
