The fifth day of PGL Wallachia Season 1 has come to an end, and three teams have joined Xtreme Gaming and Team Falcons in the Playoffs. Aurora, Gaimin Gladiators, and Team Spirit won their advancement matches today.

Aurora 2-0 Shopify Rebellion

The day started with the match between Aurora and Shopify Rebellion. Despite having two substitutes, the North American had looked good in the past few days, but did not show up on Day 5.

The first map was close, as the net worth lead was non-existent until the 26-minute mark. However, Aurora found a great teamfight to take control over the game and eventually win in 39 minutes. lorenof and 23savage played exceptionally well on Razor and Morphling, but a lot of credit has to be given to jabz, who went 7/1/20 on Tidehunter, an unpopular hero.

Game 2 started off even again, but Aurora started running away with a net worth lead. The game was stalled out, but the Southeast Asian squad could finally close the map after 53 minutes. lorenof had a perfect game on Zeus, going 15/0/23, but his teammate, Q, also went flawless on Hoodwink with a KDA of 10/0/18 as a support.

The Rebels have been sent to the 2-2 pool, where they will have one more chance to qualify for the Playoffs.

Gaimin Gladiators 2-1 BOOM Esports

The second series was the most entertaining one of the day. The Gaimin Gladiators took on a rapidly improving BOOM Esports squad.

BOOM Esports surprised the entire community with their performance in Game 1. The Peruvian roster demolished the Gladiators with a kill score of 33-6. dyrachyo was forced to end the map with 0/6/0, finding no impact.

The most successful team of 2023 quickly bounced back on the second, with Quinn getting his hands on Sniper. It was a very fast 26-minute stomp in favor of the Gladiators, and a third map was required.

In the decisive map, the game was relatively even in net worth, but Pakazs’ Morphling was at the top of the net worth charts and seemed like he was going to dominate the game. There were numerous close teamfights, where both teams continuously traded kills.

Though they weren’t that far behind, BOOM Esports made a desperate smoke play, chose the wrong targets, and got wiped without buybacks. It was an anti-climatic ending to the series, but the Gladiators took the win.

BetBoom Team 0-2 Team Spirit

The final series was intended to be the most-hyped matchup of the day. However, fans were left with a pretty passive and boring series.

We’re not exaggerating at all by saying the first map was a total farmfest. Both teams kept avoiding team fights, but Team Spirit was heavily outfarming the BetBoom Team. In the end, Team Spirit won the map with an ending kill score of 14-4 in 38 minutes.

The second game also started slow, but we eventually got some action. Team Spirit proved to be the better team, executing team fights properly to eventually win the series 2-0. Nightfall's Sven barely found any impact in the game, going 3/3/11.

After the results of Day 5, the bracket has developed into this:

The PGL Wallachia Season 1 Group Stage comes to an end tomorrow, where three more teams will advance, while the other three will be eliminated.
