Parker Carries Heroic To Win South America’s First International Tournament

Defying all odds and expectations, Heroic have pulled off a miraculous run to defeat Team Falcons in the PGL Wallachia Season 2 Grand Final, propelling the team to win South America’s first Tier 1 international tournament ever. The MVP of the tournament was clearly Heroic’s newest Carry player, Parker

Before making it to the Grand Final, the South American squad had to take out Tundra Esports in the Lower Bracket Final, where they pulled off a 15,000 gold deficit comeback in the Game 3 decider with Parker’s Templar Assassin leading the charge.

The Grand Final series was absolute cinema. The series started with an incredible first map. Team Falcons looked like they had full control over the game, with Malr1ne’s Timbersaw owning the map. However, Parker’s Bloodseeker was silently farming, and brought the game to his advantage after a few successful fights.

After a series of fights, Team Falcons showed their superiority in teamfights and took the lead again. A great fight led Falcons to claim Mega Creeps and even tried ending the game through backdoor protection. However, Heroic, with the help of KJ’s Support Gyrocopter with Divine Rapiers, held the game. Unfortunately, Heroic failed to end the game in time, as skiter and Cr1t- ratted out their throne with a Boots of Travels play.

The second map was simply the Parker show, as Team Falcons allowed him to pick his signature Morphling as a 10th pick. The game was dead even for 30 minutes, but Parker was 6,000 gold ahead of any Team Falcons hero. After a prolonged game, Heroic took a fight outside of the Falcons high ground. Instead of coming in to help, Parker focused on getting Mega Creeps, and gave up his life to complete the objective.

Under desperation, Falcons pushed Heroic’s high ground, but Parker with 12,000 gold in his stash obviously had buyback and cleaned up the fight. He bought a Divine Rapier, marched down mid, and ended the game to keep the series level. Parker finished the game 16/2/3 as Morphling with 1,007 GPM.

In the third map, the early game was back-and-forth, but Heroic eventually pulled ahead in gold after a terrific fight at the top lane. Parker’s Shadow Fiend was once again at the top of the net worth chart, being thousands of gold ahead of any Falcons hero.

With some great Omniknight saves from KJ, Heroic continued to press their lead and build a sizable advantage. At the 33-minute mark, a massive fight occured in the bottom jungle, where Parker stood his ground and got a monstrous Rampage. After 62 minutes Heroic finally ended the game with Parker going 21/2/3.

It seemed like the two consecutive losses had taken a toll on the Falcons , as they started to lose steam. Despite playing six games in a row before the decisive map, Heroic were still full of energy. The Peruvians demolished the early game, getting an early lead and forcing a quick 30-minute GG call to win the entire tournament.

With this monumental upset, Heroic claimed first place at PGL Wallachia Season 2, and were rewarded with $300,000 for their efforts. We would like to remind you that Parker had just recently replaced K1 on the roster, and this was his debut tournament.
