Level Up And OG Survive In The Lower Bracket

News
Published at: 2023-08-29 20:15:00

Two elimination matches were played in the Lower Bracket, and Team Level Up and OG came out as survivors. Their advancement in the qualifier means we’ll be saying goodbye to two teams.

KZ Team 0-2 Level Up

The first Lower Bracket match of the day was between Level Up and KZ Team.

In the first game, Nande went for a 24th pick Wraith King to counter Daxak’s Faceless Void. Though the game was even for a while, Level Up pulled out the victory cleanly. Daxak and Lorenof ended the game with zero deaths, while Nande’s last pick, Wraith King, did not work out and ended 1/7/2.

Map two started close again, but KZ Team took the advantage with an 8,000 net worth lead at 27 minutes. Still, KZ Team’s biggest mistake was failing to end the game earlier, as Level Up’s late-heavy lineup was able to flourish. Level Up’s greedy Gyrocopter and Templar Assassin draft flourished as Daxak and Lorenof became too farmed for KZ Team to deal with.

KZ Team’s journey ends here, while Level Up continue to play against Team Secret in another elimination match.

OG Alliance

Alliance has shown fantastic improvement throughout the qualifiers, but they had to take on real opponents in the form of OG to move on.

In the first game, Yuragi’s Gyrocopter was given a lot of space to farm thanks to bzm’s rotations around the map. Yuragi farmed 900 gold per minute and became way too massive for Alliance. The OG carry player ended the game on 10/0/6 to put OG on a one-map advantage.

However, it was Alliance’s turn to pick the Gyrocopter in Game 2. Alliance won the laning stage and carried that momentum to have complete control over the entire game. Though it took 59 minutes, Alliance got the job done thanks to fantastic performances from all three core players, most importantly charlie’s Gyrocopter, who went 16/3/10.

Alliance convincingly won the laning stage in the deciding map, building a 3,000 net worth lead at 10 minutes. However, OG’s resilience could turn the game 180 degrees after some good moves from bzm’s Void Spirit. OG ended up winning the game and the series to eliminate Alliance.
