The first set of elimination matches in the PGL Wallachia Season 1 Playoffs stage has ended. We must bid farewell to Aurora, and surprisingly, the Gaimin Gladiators.

G2.iG 2-1 Aurora

Despite a good attempt, Aurora’s run at PGL Wallachia Season 1was ended by G2.iG

The first map was a stomp in favor of the Chinese squad, only requiring 30 minutes to force the “GG” call. lorenof had a 24th pick Timbersaw that could not find any impact in the game. Meanwhile, the G2.iG squad played clean Dota, making perfect rotations to easily win.

In the second game, G2.iG had a combo-wombo draft, with Grimstroke’s ultimate on top of Doom, Lion, and Lina. However, there were execution problems as xNova’s Grimstroke kept getting picked off at the start of every fight.

lorenof’s Viper went out of control, and Aurora was set to destroy G2.iG’s throne. However, during the game-ending push, the Dota 2 servers crashed and the game was paused. After nearly an hour of trying to restore the game, Aurora played two more minutes and won the game.

Aurora was off to a decent start in the decisive map. However, Monet’s Lifestealer was left unaddressed, going ham on Aurora’s strength cores. Again, lorenof could not find much impact and the Southeast Asian squad was forced to concede the series.

BOOM Esports 2-0 Gaimin Gladiators

What was supposed to be the most underwhelming match of the day turned out to be an incredible upset. BOOM Esports took down the Gaimin Gladiators in a 2-0 series.

The South Americans displayed a convincing performance in the first game, and were simply the better team. Despite a few mistakes here and there, BOOM could eventually end the game after 61 minutes. Pakazs had a stellar performance on Templar Assassin, 15/3/12, but SLATEM$ was the real MVP, going 11/1/21 and dealing over 100,000 hero damage on Zeus.

The Gladiators had a dominant display in the early game of the second map, building a 6,000 net worth lead in only 12 minutes. However, the Western European squad got a little too confident, diving behind Tier 2s and feeding Pakazs some much-needed kills to comeback.

After making more mistakes, Pakazs on Troll Warlord was out of control, taking over the net worth chart by thousands of gold above the next-highest hero. The Peruvian proved he was still one of the best carries in the world, going 16/0/15 to carry his team.

Aurora and the Gaimin Gladiators have been eliminated in 7-8th place, and will take home $40,000.
