First Pro Match In 7.35: Team Liquid Send Team Secret Packing From ESL One Kuala Lumpur

The first match in front of the Malaysian crowd ended between Team Liquid and Team Secret, with the favorites taking the series 2-0.

It was an entertaining game, especially when the players were forced to play in the new patch released hours before the match was scheduled.

In the first map, we had an action-packed game. Team Liquid built up a decent lead at the 34-minute mark, but Team Secret could strike back to make the game close. Still, Team Liquid won the game deciding fight to put them 1-0 on the board.

In the second game, Team Liquid did not play around, destroying the lanes and putting themselves 8,000 gold up at the 15-minute mark. However, a disastrous fight at the top lane gave Team Secret a fighting chance in their elimination match.

Right after the fight, there was a long tech pause. After the pause, Team Secret had a remarkable sequence of events to put themselves back in the game. However, Boxi’s Muerta transitioned into a fourth core and was too big of a problem for Team Secret, who had to concede the game at 49 minutes.

With this result, Team Secret has been eliminated from ESL One Kuala Lumpur, while Team Liquid will play against Team Falcons later today.

Stand-in SabeRLiGhT- was brought in for a post-game interview, where he was asked how he felt about playing in the new patch:

“I didn’t even play a pub or anything. I barely finished reading the patch notes before coming here. Luckily, we are very fortunate we have the Shopify guys backing me up and 33 nerding it out, so we are in good hands.”

The ESL One Kuala Lumpur playoffs are underway. The event started today and will end on Sunday, December 17. For more frequent updates, subscribe to our Telegram channel!
