ESL Announces Plan For 2024 Tournaments Under The EPT System
Tournament organizer ESL has announced four new tournaments for the second season of the ESL Pro Tour (EPT), totalling six tournaments overall. The completed DreamLeague Season 21 tournament and the upcoming ESL One Kuala Lumpur tournament are already included in this EPT season.
The ESL Pro Tour will involve four new tournaments, with three distributing a prize pool of $1,000,000. The last of the four tournaments has been kept a secret, with only the date being revealed in July 2024.
After ESL One Kuala Lumpur, we will have:
- DreamLeague Season 22, $1,000,000 prize pool, Online tournament.
- ESL One EU, $1,000,000 prize pool, LAN tournament.
- DreamLeague Season 23, $1,000,000 prize pool, Online tournament.
- A “Mystery” tournament to end the season.
For each tournament, excluding the “mystery” tournament, ESL will directly invite the top four teams in the EPT rankings, with the remaining slots being decided through regional qualifiers.
Fans are speculating that the “mystery” tournament at the end of the season will be Riyadh Masters 2024. Player Fishman from Entity Gaming reported that the tournament’s prize pool could reach $45,000,000. If this is true, it will beat the prize pool of The International 10, which has the highest prize pool in esports history.
