CN Qualifiers Day 3: Xtreme Gaming and Azure Ray Meet In The Upper Bracket Final
Lots of things happened on day three of the Chinese Regional Qualifiers. Two teams made it to the top three, while two others were eliminated.
Team Aster 1-2 Xtreme Gaming
The most anticipated match of the day was also the first match of the day. Most fans expected Team Aster to go through easily, but it wasn't the case. With their new roster, Xtreme Gaming pulled off an upset and took down Team Aster.
The first game was a total stomp in favour of Xtreme Gaming, but Team Aster quickly struck back to keep the series level. However, after a close Game 3, Xtreme Gaming successfully defeated the Chinese giants to book their spot in the Upper Bracket Final.
Invictus Gaming 0-2 Azure Ray
Another exciting matchup in the Upper Bracket was IG taking on Azure Ray. Azure Ray showed a shaky performance against Team Bright, but they cleaned up their gameplay in time for their match against Invictus Gaming.
Azure Ray convincingly took both games to close the series 2-0. Azure Ray will be facing Xtreme Gaming in the Upper Bracket Final.
Team Zero 2-0 Aster.Aries
Though Aster.Aries was expected to do well, but Team Zero defied expectations and won the series 2-0. Team Zero's carry player Chen "Cty" Tianyu did not die a single time in the entire series, putting his combined KDA to a whopping 32/0/22—a perfect showing from the 28-year-old.
Team Zero will continue their Lower Bracket run while the road ends here for Aster.Aries.
Holy Grail 0-2 Team Bright
Team Bright is another notable competitor in the Lower Bracket, and they were tasked to play against Team Holy Grail. Team Bright took the lead in the series after winning a close Game 1, and despite being down in net worth in the second game, they managed to turn the game around to end the series 2-0.
Team Bright will go head-to-head against Team Aster in the Lower Bracket tomorrow. Will their run end here?
